Abraham Lincolns life shows that losing is a step back not the end. In 1832 he lost his job. That year he lost an election for the state legislature. Then in 1833 he went broke in business. He spent 17 years paying off his debts. In 1835 his fiancée. He was really shaken. In 1836 he had a breakdown. He kept losing elections. In 1838, 1840 and 1843. Even when he finally got a chance to run for Congress he lost again in 1848. In 1849 he didn't get a job as a land officer. He lost a Senate election in 1854. In 1856 he lost the race, for Vice President. He lost another Senate election in 1858. Despite all these losses Lincoln never gave up. Each failure made him more patient, humble and determined. Then in 1860 when it seemed likely Abraham Lincoln was elected as the 16th President of the United States. He united the country during the times of the Civil War. He abolished slavery. Abraham Lincoln is still counted among the worlds leaders. His story teaches us that losing is okay; giving up is not. Abraham Lincoln proved that if you have a desire you can make history even if you have failed many times. The only condition is to keep moving and never stop.
