Agni Purana:

 

Agni Purana is a very ancient Purana. This Purana is a ve3ry important Purana from classical and thematic point of view. There are 12 thousand verses and 383 chapters  available in Agni Purana. Lord Anni himself had narrated this Purana to Maharishi Vashishtha ji. That is why the name of this Purana is famous Agni Purana. Many thematic and public useful knowledge is included in Agni Purana. 

In Padma Purana, Puranas have been described as the embodiment of lord vishnu. Its various parts have been called Puranas. From this point of view, Agni Purana has been called the left foot of Shri hari.

For Agni Purana, the months of Shravan- Bhadrapada, Ashwin, Agahan Magh, phalgun, Baishkh and Jyeshtha are especially auspicious. But according to scholars, the day on which Agni Purana Katha is started is an auspicious time.

The place for performing Agni Purana should be very sacred. The special importance of organizing Agni Purana in the birthplace has been explained - Janani Janmabhoomi Ishcha Purana in the places of pilgrimage. Rules for performing Agni Purana:-

The speaker of Agni Purana should be a learned brahmin. He should have have proper knowledge of the scriptures and vedas. According to Agni Purana, all brahmins should be virtuous and have good conduct. he should do Sandhya Bandhan and Gayatri jaap every day. both Brahmin and Yajaman should fast for seven days. Eat only once a day. Food should be pure vegetarian, If health is not good, then food can be taken.
