The emperor was a very just ruler. He had installed a bell at the entrance of his palace. Anyone who had a complaint could ring that bell so that the emperor could hear the sound and do justice, In his kingdom, justice was done to everyone, whether poor or rich, small or big. in the eyes of the emperor, the law was equal for all. The emperor punished the criminal and forgave the innocent and did justice to everyone. Many people came to the emperor's court with their complaints for justice.

one day, the emperor's wife Noor Jahan was practicing  archery. Noor Jahan shot arrows at only a few selected targets. While practicing, Noor Jahan shot an arrow in the air towards the river Which fell somewhere there. After this, Noor Jahan returned to her palace. 

After some time, the bell installed at the entrance of the palace started ringing loudly. The guard saw that a washerwoman was crying with sobs. There was a dead body lying on the ground near him and a blood stained arrow was in his hand. The guard took the washerwoman to the emperor. The washerwoman saluted the emperor and started pleading for justice. She showed the arrow to the emperor and said - 'Huzoor, someone has killed my husband with this arrow, making me a widow and my children orphans. Now who will raise me and my children?' The emperor picked up the arrow and saw that it had the royal seal on it. The emperor understood that this tragic incident was definitely perpetrated by someone from the palace. He ordered the guard - who was practicing archery on the day this incident happened? On receiving the king's order, the guard went to the palace and after knowing the truth, he returned in a short while and said - 'Huzoor , that day Begum Sahiba was practicing archery.' The emperor immediately called Noor Jahan to the court. As soon as  

Noor Jahan appeared in the court, the emperor took out a knife from his waistband and gave it to the washerwoman and said, "You have become a widow because of Noor Jahan, so you kill me with this knife and make Noor Jahan a widow. By doing this you will definitely get justice. "hearing the emperor's justice, the washerwoman felt very ashamed and said, "Huzoor, my husband will not be alive it I kill you. Then how can I commit the sin of killing a just emperor like you." The emperor was very happy to hear the washerwoman's words and provided her financial help from the royal treasury. The washerwoman took the financial help and went to her home thanking the emperor. 

After the washerwoman left, Noor Jahan said to the emperor, "You had really taken a big risk. If that woman had followed your order, a great disaster would have happened. "The emperor said, "If I had died, that woman would have got justice. " Remember one thing , the law is equal for everyone 

Moral- From this story, we learn that in the eyes of the law, there is no one big or small, but everyone is equal.
